Dear Donahue, Thanks again for another great show. I hope your Christmas was merry and I hope you got alot of gifts. I'm so happy that the cloning issue came up on the interview with Christopher Reeve. Hopefully, alot of peoples' superstitions have been simmered. One of the things you showed on the show was the difference between the Christopher Reeve of 2000 and the Christopher Reeve of today, and how it's noticable on his strengthening. It's strange how, even back then, we all could see his strength, but it's cool how today we can see him stablizing every time he pops up. I'm hopeing for this cloning stuff to come acceptable and even more expandable to where old worn spines can be restrengthened. In my case, I've been working manual labor jobs my entire working life, and although I'm not in a Christopher Reeve position, I have had a minor back injury every now and again. These happened when I was a young adult onto now in my middle age days. My back has always been strong, it's even a herititary thing. The thought of taking time off of work for a doctor to see a "bruise" was stupid to me. Now, throughout the course of time, I seem to wonder sometimes would it have made a difference? For right now I just do things more carefully, but it would still be nice if a whole new spine(figurativley speaking) could be constructed should person/patient feel the need for it. Anyway, that's all I had to say. I hope you have a Happy New Year. Seasons Greetings and God bless (i know its corny but hey its the holidays). Thanks for listening(reading), St.Christopher

Dear Phil ;
I just watched your interview with Falwell, and I was astounded. His arrogance, ignorance and bigotry surpassed even what I would have expected. I commend you for your courage and grace in giving him a forum to slash his own throat. Keep up the good work! You're an oasis of sanity in a media arena that grows more abusrdly biased by the hour.

Dear Donahue, I'm very glad you brought Jerry Falwell on to your show. It's always a good reminder of how not to be in living the life of a christian. Honestly, a man of GOD that says one thing on a christian broadcast and then another on a talk show like yours is just tiring, and I'm glad you showed it on national television. This is a major complaint outside the world of the church, whatever the denomination, from not -so-christian christians. Don't get me wrong, I show alot of patience to them. Especially since I'm only a year reborn, but ever since I could remember there's been men of GOD that can't stop makeing us look like facists or hypocretes in some text or another. I just hope that everyone saw that, and hopefully Falwell lost a few followers. Of course, the hard core hypocretes won't stop following him, but I think we all pretty much know that. I know so far I haven't asked you anything, it's becuase I don't have any questions. I just wanted to write to you. That's all. You know something? It's amazing how these men of GOD can't answer anything, yet they can't shut up either. The way Falwell wasn't touching the subject of war with the middle east but says the president is doing a good job. As if the guy had ever taken the time to see what's going on. Falwell, like so many preachers, never see things through other pionts of views. Now if I was there, I'd put it striaght. America is not going to war because of one thing; It's all about the money, religion is the tool. What better way to get a nation full of "GOD fearing christians"to do what ever the government wants than by influencing GOD fearing terror into the hearts of millions. Remember, the government knew the Taliban was going to strike, and of course they didn't know when, they only knew that it was going to happen. What better group than the Taliban to do this? No group better, they've made such pests out of themselves for so long that they've put a target on their backs, and since the Al-Qeada/Al-Qada is a link to the Taliban through oil and heroine, what better way to have them eliminated than to have them pick a fight with the U.S. one of the biggest consumers. After all the Black-Americans were right in saying that although there are blacks that sell heroine they didn't bring it over to the U.S. So where did it come from? Try the middle east. Since the Taliban is now eliminated, the Al-Qeada/Al-Qada now have more to profit on. Now, both the U.S. and Saudi Arabia have business restored. To top it off, the Saudis are backing Hussien and we're backing up Bush. What will happen? The same thing that always happens, we'll have a confrontation, a couple of lives will be lost, a fake treaty will be signed, America will claim victory, and we'll laugh at the headlines when they say that Hussien is lying to his people again. The headlines will say"WE WIN AGAIN!" with Hussien smiling in the picture. Of course, this is to still keep the president in office as long as they can. After all he is the best puppet to the governmental departments since his father. Saying whatever his speech wrighters tell him to, without saying anything to put a department on the spot or stating to make proposals for the working class and trying to keep his word, like some other president. No, Bush is not going to let any of the departments work harder than they have to, otherwise he'd always be in front of the gun like the other president. I'm sure you've gotten alot of best christmas wishes to you. . . . . well you're gonna get another one. Merry Christmas, Donahue and a Happy New Year! I hope it's a good one . For Christmas, I will be with my family, but for New Years' , since popping fire works is illegal inside city limits, I will be doing something new. It's called the Laser Quest lock-in. It's laser tag, but only all night, from mid night to 7:00 A.M. It's very fun. I hope you have a great time with your family. My get togethers are always good. Everybody "gets merry" with egg nog(wink wink) and we all rock n roll to the oldies. Sounds stupid huh. Believe it or not, it works. Every generation in the family knows the oldies like every hard core church attendant knows all the gospel songs. On Christmas Day, I'm gonna watch "catch me if you can". I think for the other Leonardo film, I'm going to have to wait for it when it's a rental, like the Lord of the Rings. Becase somewhere down the line I'll need a restroom break, some time to stretch, etc. (hee hee). Anyway, you probably have some more fans that wanna talk to you so I'm going to let you go. I'm sorry if I don't leave you an E-mail address, but this computer is not mine and I don't know if the owner has one. He's kind enough to let me use it. If you want to reach me by mail the address is: 6702 Falling Quail; San Antonio, TX 78250. If you're interested, you don't have to, but if saying "hi" on the air is good enough for you it's good enough for me. Thanks for coming back to the television. Seeya.
St. Christopher
P.S. If you could maybe bunch all the commercials together in one segment of the hour, I know I'd appreciate it. I'm sure all the other viewers would like that to. Thanks, again. Seeya.

De-ja vu The letter, following this introduction, was printed in the Kelowna Daily Courier, and faxed to newspapers and TV stations all over North America in January 4. 1991.
The world is once more in a similar situation, and I would like, with your help, to reach and talk with celebrities eyeball to eyeball who have a sincere desire to promote peace in the world, but besides saying no to war, have no idea what to do. Please share this letter in any way that would promote this objective. Sincerely Gunther Ostermann Kelowna, BC. Canada .(250) 765 8726 gco@shaw.ca . Here is the letter as it appeared in the newspaper on January 4.1991.
An open letter to George Bush, James Baker, Brian Mulroney, Joe Clark, John Major and all those who are ready to sacrifice somebody elses life for freedom and democracy.
How ironic, in the midst of the Christmas season, church masses and endless prayer for peace, you as heads of Christian nations, are preparing for bloodshed at the same time. Granted, Iraq has invaded Kuwait, and Saddam Hussein maybe all the things that are ascribed to him, and yes, many lives have been lost because of his action. But, what youre now contemplating and endorsing is premeditated murder-suicide on a grand scale. But you are not about to risk your own lives, do you? The same applies for Saddam Hussein as well, who threatening to bomb Tel Aviv. Why is there such enmity between nations? A possible carnage may cost more than 100 000 lives, and two to three times that number of various cripples, not to forget the psychological trauma which will haunt them a lifetime. And what about the victims of the civilian population and children without a voice, who would be maimed and killed? Are they any different than an ordinary Canadian, American or other human being? Theyre only differently brainwashed. What about the war-casualties families, who will be deprived of a father or mother the rest of their lives? What about the added damage that would be done to our fragile planet? In no way do I condone Saddam Husseins action: but neither do I favour your approach. As long as freedom is measured with a bank account, and youre having millions of people in poverty and miseries in your own countries, the battle cry for freedom and democracy sounds rather hypocritical. If you really care, there is a way to solve the Mid-East crisis, and there is a way to achieve peace. In my letter to Javier Perez de Cuellar, who is prepared to go to the moon for answers, I offered to speak about solutions to the United Nations. I proposed to conduct a style of meeting, never before attempted in the political arena of the world. It would address the whys and it would be a humbling experience for most every one, to evaluate of who we really are, and what life on earth could be and must be, if we as human beings want to survive as a species. My letter remained unanswered. As the situation is now, there could be a war, or at best, a postponement of different miseries to come. I may only be a layman, without name, fame and fortune, but may I offer you one more option? Please let me speak to the United Nations and Saddam Hussein. Perhaps a different perspective could help prevent a lot of grief and miseries. On Behalf of a better world for ALL of us. Gunther Ostermann Kelowna, BC. Canada

Dear Donahue, In case I don't get the chance to say it on time, Happy Holidays! It's been a while since I wrote so I'll keep this as short as possible (here goes). 12-17-02; Do you have to be christian to get to heaven? In this christians' eyes, no, it's not necessary. An analogy bests explains: 2 men become Kung Fu masters even though they were trained through two different fighting styles, one through Tai Kwan Do and the other though Tai Chi. On a religious level, whether your trainer is Christ, Abraham, David, etc. you're going to heaven. Keep in mind, that's only if you have not commited to a life of sin, or a life of sin after you've repented.12-18-02; Are women getting a free ride? First, my apologies to Thabiti Boone and the second gentleman, who's name I didn't get, for having to go through unfair treatment because of thier sex, however, those rare cases should not throw out help for the women in need , ever. I, an adult male, agree with Mrs. Allred when she said that Boone should've gotten help, I also feel that the scond man had a hard time going against his lawyer wife not so much because she was a woman, but becuase she, like so many of these awful lawyers, had a few judicial aces up her sleeve(rotten lawyers). I'm sorry if this is long, but, those men, Farrel and Angellouci, I find it so disappionting to see these literary men take a stage and try to convince the public that men have got a hard life when those two silly fools probably never worked as hard as manual labor men like me have; as if they would know what it's like working with women. I have worked with almost all kinds: from the single parent to the "Mrs." who clocks off with her husband at the end of the day to get in the kitchen and cook something up once they get home, to the lazy woman that takes advantage of people doing her share of work for her by acting stupid, to the under rated working bee, to the woman that got on everyones nerves then had the odacidy to threaten lawsuit when she was let go, to the loyal employee of the company. As far as that Peter Allemano, his whinning about womans' behavior for being more feminingly intimate than men at the work place, that was rediculous. Women giving each other a shoulder message while in the elevator, but men cannot, PLEASE!!! Everybody knows that men do not show too much plutonic affection becuase it's just plain too uncomfortable for men to do so. If a fellow employee throws an arm aruond me, no big deal, but, like with what women have been saying, not when it's too much. Speaking of too much, women can show affection because if a man does it, he'll more than likely go to far. But the most obvious reason why it's o.k. for women to show plutonic affection to each other is that they're just being women. That's not a bad remark, but we all know that women are better at showing affection than men. Remember, we men have always had the tendancy to go to far, as oppossed to the once in a while wacko woman who probably isn't good at it becuase she wasn't taught correctley about her femininity. All in all, and this may not be what either side wants to know, men have to stay hard and strong, women have to stay soft yet strong, and in the work place? Men have to break free from their insecurities, women still have to struggle. They debate has to continue, becuase it's obvious, we have along way to go.

1 Corinthians 1: 18-31
For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God's good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe. Seeing that Jews ask for signs, and Greeks seek after wisdom: but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness; but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For behold your calling, fellow Christians, that not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are: that no flesh should glory before God. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

I see on the news that Iraq is preparing to use chemical and biological weapons in a "scorched earth policy" against it's enemies and even it's own people. Is that why you are so afraid for the UN to destroy those weapons? Are you deathly afraid? Do you enjoy freedom but not wish to fight to maintain it? Would you rather the UN waited until Iraq gets nuclear weapons before disarming them? Helloooooooo Phil?

It was distrubing to see your 12/17 show emphasizing conflict between human interpretations of God. "God is ", all three manifistations. One cannot love God and not believe in God. Jesus said, "The greatest commandment is this, that you LOVE ...God." We are not here to get a cheap ticket to heaven by simply "believing" in the Jesus form of God. We are here to learn to be lovers. While I have great respect for your approach on most issues, I believe emphasizing conflict in views on God is counter to what God has taught us. Why not do a show on the similarities of all religions, including Islam, that profess to worship the one true God. THE REQUIREMENT FOR SALVATION MAY ONLY BE BELIEF, BUT THE COMMANDMENT IS THAT WE "LOVE THE LORD, OUR GOD, WITH ALL OUR HEART, SOUL, AND MIND, AND OUR B R O T H E R S AS OURSELVES."

Concerning your show on 12/17/02, I don't know if you really believe all that stuff you say on TV or if you're just making a big show of it all to add to your audience. If you are serious, consider this. Maybe C.S. Lewis said it best. Jesus claimed to be God. If he's not, how can he be a great man? He either is who he says he is, or he's a liar and a hoax and totally untrustworthy. In that case he would have deceived billions of people. Do you think that kind of person can be great?

Thanks for being such an excellent witness to the values I believe in!
Two comments on 12/13's show: Re. whether or not the stars should do what they do: In the 60's I opposed what the Berrigans were doing, and I asked Dick McSorley, SJ, about it. He disarmed me by replying, "I would not have done it myself." Then he changed my life by continuing, "But you are asking the wrong question. The important thing is not whether what they did was right. The real question is, 'What are you going to do to stop the bloodshed?' "
Re. whether or not the stars know enough to act: Is it not incumbent on each citizen to become as knowledgable as possible about issues that concern us? Is it not also incumbent on each of us to follow our consciences and take action when our values are threatened?
Keep up your wonderful work! Every blessing, Terri Mackenzie, SHCJ

I watched a bit of your show. I wonder if you have lost your way. Being louder, more impassioned, and constantly interrupting does not make your position on an issue correct. I fear for this country if we are actually swayed by such simplistic fallacies as appeal to emotion. I am also worried that the left, as we label it, is becoming so mindlessly strident, so unrelenting in the attempt to stifle and shout down any dissenting thought, that in the end, the public will see credibility as beginning in the center and increasing to the right. I believe that reason resides near the center of most issues and lunacy occupies both fringes. If the so called left continues the suicide march into lunacy we will all lose in the end. Sir, you are in a position as a recognized member of the left (truly I hate the labels) to gently persuade at least some away from the precipice. Please think about it.

mr donahue thanks for your show.but it does bring me pain to watch those men who follow the traditions of man speck on christians.the mere fact that some one would call himself rev. is a pure example of mans traditions and not what the bible teaches.go to the king james bible go to and old book if you look at the book of psalm#111 -9 you will find holy and rev is the lord name. many new ministers know this and woud not have themself called by rev.those men of churches who follow the traditions and doctrines of man are not the good messagers of the lord's message.those men are not members of the church which was founded by christ.so i would love to see a debate between a member of the church of christ and one of those icism churches.i'am sure it will be a good debate.thanks

Dear Phil: I don't get a chance to watch your show often, but have caught your "Angry White Men" episodes. This topic is very irritating to me for several reasons. Firstly, being a woman, I know about discrimination and partiality in the workplace. Women put out much, much more money to prepare for work, to appear professional and acceptable,(stockings, clothing, clothing cleaning, hair care, make up etc.) and still don't make the same wage as a man with the same position. Some women are the only support for their children with employers having little regard for the difficulties and expense involved in raising children. Don't get me started on dead-beat dads.. Do we get enough compensation? No. Can we come into work looking slovenly and expect to keep our job? No. Is there a statistic that shows that a black MAN makes less than any color woman? Next, I am not prejudiced, don't like any kind of prejudice to any group of peoples, and therefore I do not believe in affirmative action. While understanding that there are some people starting at a disadvantage, now is the time that these people CAN move ahead with the programs and education that are available if you really want to learn. Are the black people I saw on your show (saying that since those before them have had a disadvantage in the past), any different than any other immigrant who came here, couldn't even speak the language and founded this country? Are they saying that the fact that they were held back then(which is reprehensible-but I didn't institute that situation),caused a lack of motivation, lower intelligence and/or ignorance in their progeny today? While their people were denied the opportunities then, they ARE available to them and all today. Are they now saying that these drawbacks; low intelligence, ignorance or the lack of motivation to learn are now genetically passed down? Are they saying that it is now inherited from their forefathers? That they cannot now strive for a difference in their lives? I am also irritated that the feeling is that the "white man" owes them for the past ignorance. Reparations? In the words of Dr. Phil, it is time to "Get over it, use the strengths caused by misfortune and move ahead" Are the Jews still carrying on about the Holocaust? Do they not( in the mind of the black man) deserve to OWN Germany? Are the American Indians in any better shape? No. In fact, they, if anyone, deserve to be understood. Immigrants really did a job on them. I just had to make my point. The employment ( unemployment, crime) numbers are NEVER going to be EQUAL, 25%white, 25% black, 25% female, 25% all others. It is unrealistic. But at least people should NOW strive to be their personal best, pressure the government to be "fair" to all, and stop causing rifts between us all. Start living in the NOW! Peace, Barbara from New Jersey

Dear Donahue, First, welcome back. I knew your show would res- surect. I'm pleased with your taking on a variety of subjects and actually letting debates happen instead of just plain argueing with your guests, like most show hosts are doing, and I'm really glad that you're not focused on shocking the guests just for ratings. I'm writing to you on 12-10-02 at 1:00 a.m. How- ever, I saw the 12-09-02 topic, and was (not surprisingly) disgusted with Mr. Peck and his treat-ment with the obvi-ously ill Mrs.Milroie. If you were argueing with any of them , we the people wouldn't have seen that. Good job, sir. I hope you don't mind me asking you a question, maybe you could bring it up at the next mid- east conflict topic, I was wondering if I'm the only one that predicts no war based on the theory of business being good now on both sides of the law. Am I the only one that saw 911 as a conspiracy for both the U.S. and Iraq? In my piont of view, when it comes to govts. , it's all about the money, religion is the tool. What better way for the politicians to raise as much taxes as they want, and what better way for Iraq to get rid of the Taliban for not keeping quiet whenever they bomb a building or commit a terrorist act than to allow the Taliban to des- troy, what was supposed to be a couple of floors, instead, a couple of buildings. We all saw the reports of the horrid lifestyles but it seems to be that we forgot that alot of miles of heroine plantations were destroyed, too. Since the African-Americans were correct in saying the drugs didn't come from them, this means that the middle eastern drug faction has eliminated their competitor, i.e. the Taliban. Which means business is restored on both sides of the law, for both countries and those involved (possibly the other countries that Bush was trying to unite with). Now, oil and the drugs can be sold and make a profit at any rate that (they) want. Why am I the only one that sees this? - ---St. Christopher (no it's not my real name) P.S. tell the guys in the booth to stop cutting you off with so many commercial breaks, please.

Dear Mr. Donahue; My name is Karriem Shabazz. I am an American of African descent living and studying in the Holy Lands. I am writing to solicit your support for a project I think is very worthwhile. I have partner shipped with the local T.V. station here to present the history of the development of the Zionist State of Israel. It is the first comprehensive film to come from the Arab World documenting these events.
I have documented the events leading up to the most expensive debacle the United States has ever been involved in. The issues surrounding Philistine and the "Israeli Jews'" illegal attempts to steal the land from its rightful owners have far reaching implications. It has been a contributing cause of the WTC disaster as well as many other such disasters; both on American soil as well as around the world. The need for this film is that in violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution, Americans are being kept deaf, dumb and blind to the truth of America's foreign policy in the Holy Lands and the Arab world.
The title of my documentary is: The Struggle to Save al-Aqsa and the Holy Lands. This production is a prelude to regular monthly 30-minute programs I intend to produce for the silent American majority. The target population for my productions are the white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant, Catholic, non-Zionist Jew, registered voter, tax payer.
I have contacted you because you have strong contacts in the media. Since this is not the typical unbalanced and censored footage of Philistine the Jewish owned networks normally show. Therefore, because of its controversial nature and content it has been virtually impossible to get it on air. I need outlets in the United States, Europe and the world. All of my productions include professionally produced film footage of historical incidents that have and are happening here in the Holy Lands.
My purpose for producing this film is to stop the killing of Philistinian youth. I believe that when America, and the world see this film and its stirring narration that it will activate the hearts of the American people and they will be moved to action. They will contact their political representatives in Washington and tell him to bring this situation to an end by forcing the Zionists to the peace table in earnest; or face decreased appropriations from the $7 billion annually that is sent to this region by American tax payers to kill young rock throwing boys and innocent school girls. Statistics show that there were 350 children killed by Israeli soldiers; and the majority of these children were either going to or coming from school.
Please give me permission to send the film to you. I believe that once you view it you will learn historical facts that were not well organized and unclear. I need your mailing address and a phone number. Intend to send it by express mail. I can be reached at i-w-v@scs-net.org,.
With kindest regards,
Karriem Shabazz, President IWV, Ltd.

Homosexuality is a sin in the fullest sense of the word. How can we begin as a nation to accept it and propogate that those who are homosexual should "come out" instead of being cared for and "helped out" of that lifestyle. I did resent and dislike the entire program. I'm sorry, I just felt that it was inaccurate on all accounts. I have no hate towards homosexuals. I have a feeling of remorse over their lives. This country needs Jesus, not tolerance of sin.

Hello. I'm a born again Christian and I feel that we (as Christians) were not given an equal voice in Wednesday's program about Homosexuality and sports in america. Phil said that the majority of the country would not agree with the man from Exodus. I would beg to differ. I believe entirely in what that man said. Phil Donohue, you need to do a little better at representing BOTH sides of the issues you cover in your show.

I agree wholeheartedly with the man who represented Exodus international on Wednesday's debate over Gays in sports. However, we as Christians believers in God must show compassion of the homosexual. It is a sin just as much as stealing and adultery, but our attitude as Christians must be care for and love of the person. Homosexuals are in need of healing and help with their lives, even if they don't have the ability to admit it. Jesus wants to help and heal those who would accept it.
Thank you.

Phil I am also praying for your salvation. You are a very well educated man, except in the area of the Bible. You don't understand God because you don't know anything about Him. You become so angry when talking about christianity, is it because you just don't understand? Try praying that God will lift your blinders. You are right this is not an accident, but God will not accept those who don't accept His gift of salvation, that being His Son, into the kingdom of heaven.

Conservatisim is the closest political position we have in this country to Christianity. It is the closest thing we have to Christian politics. This countries economy would be exploding and expanding exponentially if we would get rid of minimum wage, rent control prices, outrageous liscensing procedures, and government housing. By getting rid of minimum wage business will finally be able to pay thier workers what they are worth whatever the business thinks thier worth. Some would say that without a minimum wage business would pay workers much less than they do now. That is ridiculous, if business did that nobody would work for them, business have to pay people to keep them, it would bring more competive pay wages in the business setting and people would have more motivation to get education and learn how to do thier job better. By getting rid of rent control laws we would see the projects dissapear. By letting the Landlord's charge what they need to charge to keep an apartment complex running there would be no more black market under the table deals between landlord and tennant and we the project would disapear because the Landlord would have no reason to abondon his propery. Get rid of liscensing laws and American business would explode. More people would have more motivation to become the doctors, lawyers, taxi drivers, tree surgeons, taxidermists, etc.. Yes tree surgeons and taxidermists have to pay exorbanent prices to have a liscence if the board they sit infront of alows them the chance to buy the liscense. Most of the time they don't because of the excuse of thier is already to much competition in any market these days. I am here to tell you thier is not enough. With more competition come competive prices. Prices would come down, business would have more incentive to put out a good product, and people would have more incentive to go out and get the jobs. By getting rid of government housing people would have more motivation to go out and get a job, pay for a place to live, and keep it up, which would result in a dwindling of the ghettos. By doing all that i have said America would become the great nation it needs to be. It is the Liberals that keep this country from greatness, by blame shifting, whinging, crying, and complaining. They work so hard to come across as so smart and the American people not smart enough to think for themselves and thats why the government needs to step in. Well I have found them out, I know thier ways, I am a Christian conservative that believes everyone to have value and needed in this country to take this country back to God in which it was founded on. I make this vow to fight, toil, and struggle to be heard, bring the gospel of Christianity, and bring this nation into the Christian conservative frame of mind it needs to achieve greatness

Liberals teach Americans that they are not responsible for thier actions, can't make good decisions for themselves, and anything that they do wrong is not thier fault; in an attempt to come across as the American people's savior. They preach the gospel of "Big Brother Government" and prey on the people that they have duped into following thier heart going with thier feelings and fully accept the Government coming in and sweeping them off thier feet. Giving them money and housing by taxing and over burdening the rich in this country. By doing so they rob low income Americans of thier value, thier absolute nescesity in this country to work. The liberals steal thier incentive to do anything for themselves, steal thier concept of self, and replace it with the liberal concept of self as being a product of thier biology and environment and nothing they do is thier fault so don't worry the government will save you. By duping the American public into buying into this liberal agenda, liberals come to power and destroy our economy by fooing people into thinking that they have no value and have no reasonable explenation to work and think for themselves because they are not responsible of thier actions and tell them what they do and how they act is because of thier biology and environment

I saw the interview with Joy Behar re: the smoking issue. You made the comment that nobody succeeds on the first try to quit. Well, I did!! I was 52 years old, having smoked since age 18ish. I was up to about 3 packs a day when I decided that's it. I had never decided that before because I enjoyed smoking, but with Nicoderm patches and Wellbutrin medication, I did it. I have been cig-free since NY Day 2000, not even a sneak cigarette. Still desire one every so often, but haven't broken because this was MY decision and I will stick to it. Just wanted you to know. I was surprised that you are so anti God! It is almost that you are afraid of Him. Also, the purpose of the constitution is not to protect "us" from the tyranical majority. It supports that we are a nation ruled by majority. The day the tail wags the dog is the day the framers of the constitution are pushed aside and anarchy a a dictatorship take over.

Dear Mr. Donohue: I watched your interview with Mr. John Ballinger on the night of October 31st, 2002. To say the least, I was disappointed with your use of the phrase "These People", which you immediately followed with the correction of "These Men"! The issue of Race, in American Society, has been a major impedement in the cultural and social growth of our nation. Unfortunately the language of Race or Racism is so deeply embedded in the unconsious of our society that we use it without thinking. Moreover, in our rationalizations of its use we attempt to minimize the perceived harm it does. Two individuals committed these horrorable crimes of murder - Not a entire people...! Americans of Afrikan descent across America were just as appalled as other of our fellow countrymen at these brutal, horrorable and senseless killings. Now more than ever, we as Americans need to recognize the language of Institutionalized Racism within our culture and weed it out. As a people, we need to take the steps necessary for our continued social and cultural growth. With regard to the snipers - If they are in fact quilty of these crimes then they must suffer the consequences of their actions based upon the law of the land. Moreover, I applaud Mr. John Ballinger for his courage and The strong spiritual message that he sent to the American People. MAY GOD BLESS US ALL - EACH AND EVERYONE.

Hopefully, you are for the people. We need someone to speak for us in south Louisiana. We need to let our polictians know that they need to revised the law on food stamps, and other attendance in a disaster area. Some people have received stamps automatically because of the federal law. The trouble is, that there are people with damage not covered by the insurance, loss of food for one, but make too much income(husband and wife, 3 kids). We have a co-worker that had damage to their trailer roof. They are living with the in-laws until it can be fixed. They had food loss, not covered by insurance. They applied for stamps, until things can get settled. They were told they make too much income. There are people who are on food stamps, get it automatcially(one month), because of this law; that had no damage. There are also people admitting to getting attendance, who don't receive food stamps regularly, that got them for this hurricane but had no damage. I won't get into the racial track, but it does exist. Please help those who are really in need.

So, It's currently Monday, October 21 at 8:41 pm Eastern Time. Theoretically, there should be a donahue episode on right now in which he goes to Flint michigan to see the opening of Bowling for Columbine with Film-Maker Michael Moore.
Strangely, this didn't happen. About an hour ago MSNBC's website changed- monday night was sudden;y just blank. Then the normal "Chat with Donahue" forum on msnbc's webpage dissapeared. Now, there's a big banner advertising a show about the Washington DC Sniper where the advertisement for Donahue is normally located. And, on the channel where the show should be on right now, there is a "live" hour long special on the sniper in Washington, even though there have been absolutely no new leads or breakthroughs to justify the show. There is no mention as to why the show was cancelled. The only thing that says Donahue should even still be on is the scrolling television guide on channel 24 of my TV.
It's a scary day when Corporate and Private sector censorship are more worrisome than The Government, because corporate censorship isn'r regulated. That may sound as it should be, but when 11 companies control 97% of the media, then corporate censorship can destroy a voice faster than any government mandate.
In the meantime, Bowling for Columbine was obviously to riske for MSNBC given the current sniper events. Its strage though, because more than anything else Bowling for Columbine is the film that addresses the event right now.
It also shattered box office records for a Documentary at its New York release last weekend.
It also hasn't been the first time that NBC has refused to air Michael Moore. At one time, they even obtained a restraining order against him, which was only revoked after Moore proved in court that it was issued on the basis of false statements made under oath by NBC's CEO. Needless to say, he didn't have to worry about a perjury trial.
Donahue endorsed Michael Moore and this film as a stinging critique of gun laws and the way that we raise children in America. I think, if nothing else, NBC's censorship shows the importance of this film.
So lets write NBC. Donahue is one of the very few liberal voices allowed on television. Subjecting him to censorship and cancellation, without so much as a notice, cannot be allowed. I'm waiting for networks to show their equal reporting tactics by having Fox ban random episodes of the O' Reilly Factor ( a very scary show- i have yet to se a single interviwe where O' reilly accomplishes more than cutting off the personal he is supposedly interviewing to make an ass of himself), but i'm guesing i have a long time to wait.

I read that Norman Vincent Peale was a guest on the Phil Donahue show at one time. Is it possible to get a transcript of that or to read the interview on the Internet?
Thanks.

I'm watching your show now---re: the Bullock story and the tobacco suit. I find the award to be totally beyond the scope of my understanding. I smoked Phillip Morris products from 1966 to 1999....I QUIT, ergo, where is the onus on the manufacturer? I just watched the daughter of Betty Bullock say that, although her mother knew that the Surgeon General said that smoking caused cancer, she (the mother) couldn't quit smoking, even with the help of non-smoking aids. If so, that's a personal problem. I was a dedicated smoker from the time I was 19 until I stopped smoking for good at the age of 51. Let's do the math. This woman's daughter is someone looking for an excuse to blame someone for her mother's weakness. She (the daughter) likened smoking cigarettes to an addiction equal to that of crack cocaine...yet we, in this country, have not yet had the balls to sue the sellers of these drugs for the addiction of the users. Tell me---what's the difference?

About the Fordham-Columbia problem.... I was just at the Fordham site, not one reference to it. Although many at Columbia's. As the father of a former Columbia football player I think a organized band at Columbia is long overdue, that foolishness has been going on for a very long time. Again I'm pleased Fordham has turned the other cheek, any other reference to the remarks just might have their own agenda.

I heard your argument with Oliver North on MSNBC this evening. Why do you have your mind made up before hearing the reasons that Iraq may need to be targeted as a hostile nation? How many lives need to be lost in the United States before you are convinced? Or should I word it how many Donahue's need to be lost before you are convinced? In 1998 President Clinton stated that Iraq needed to be reckoned with. I did not hear you ask for convincing evidence then - what were you - off that year? If Iraq was important enough to be considered a danger during the impeachment hearings, it couldn't have gotten any less dangerous in 4 years. Sorry, you owe Oliver North an apology.

The following Wall Street Journal editorial looks like a candidate subject for a show "commited" to airing "both sides of the issue". An editorial in Friday's WSJ caught my eye. > > It talked about how long and how loudly university presidents and other > administrators profess their unequivocal commitment to diversity. It's > diversity this, diversity that, make special provisions to make sure we are > all-inclusive, made sure no one is left out, make sure all views are heard, > and heard in equal measure, etc. > > Then it points to a recent survey/study conducted across the nation's > colleges and universities, examining the political registration of its > faculty. Some examples of their findings were offered: > > 1) At Cornell, of 36 faculty in the English department, one is a Republican, > 35 are Dems. > > 2) In the History department, of 29 faculty, all 29 are left. None on the > right. > > 3) In Harvard's Political Science department, 20 on the left; one on the > right. The same held true for its Economics and Sociology departments. > > 4) At UC Santa Barbara, the ratio at five departments, collectively, was 72 > to one. > > 5) Of the 21 institutions they surveyed, the closest they came to a "strong" > conservative representation was at Stanford's Economics department, where > seven of its 28 members are on the right (25%!). > > And so it went for every university in the study. As the editorial suggests, > there is a wider and freer cross-section of political opinion in the aisles > of any grocery store or city bus than there are now at our colleges and > universities. > > The lack of faculty political diversity apparently escapes university > administrators, and is especially interesting given their immense efforts to > reorder all other aspects of campus life based on the principle of diversity. > In the name of this cardinal value, administrators target groups for > recruitment, shape curricula, designate some sports for funding in the name > of gender equity while cutting others, and so much more. It's virtually > impossible to imagine any university president delivering a major address > which is not saturated with references to diversity, and his or her own > allegiance to it.. > > The editorial then wonders when the day will come that colleges will stop > preening about the principle of diversity long enough to see how little of it > actually exists among the most powerful and influential force on campus - > their own teachers. > > So when your children (or grandchildren) in college come home, and you > realize that everything they've been taught has a liberal taint to it, and > they all have green ideas, and they're vehemently anti-military, > anti-government, anti-drug restrictions - maybe now you'll understand why. > As the editorial also points out, even the journalism industry, which has a > well-known liberal bias in the way it reports news, isn't this completely, > totally one-sided in its political tilt. > > Kinda gets your attention, huh? >

Phil Donahue's new MSNBC show is absolutely refreshing in terms of credibility and relevant facts. He dares to question superficial national and international reporting seemingly designed to deceive and therefore effect crucial decision making. He should be supported by all US citizens who care about our developing democracy. Thank you kindly--Betty Wilkinson

Keep it up Phil! You are a voice of reason in in a time filled with hysterical rhetoric. Others respond to the heat of the moment and are quick to fall into lockstep with whatever loudest voice that best expresses their emotions. You let reason and sanity control your intellect and are a true humanitarian. Thank you. For those that would resort to calling you names designed to inflame yet more emotions and cloud the real issues: Think it through, guys! Work your way past the moment and think 10 and 20 years down the line- let's figure out a way to solve the problems instead of just the symptoms!

Anti-War Demonstrators Should Think Twice
Wednesday, October 03, 2001 By David Horowitz
Respond to Editor
Email this Article
I am a former anti-war activist who helped to organize the first campus demonstration against the war in Vietnam at the University of California, Berkeley in 1962. I appeal to all those young people who participated in "anti-war" demonstrations on 150 college campuses this week, to think again and not to join an "anti-war" effort against Americas coming battle with international terrorism.
The hindsight of history has shown that our efforts in the 1960s to end the war in Vietnam had two practical effects. The first was to prolong the war itself. Every testimony by North Vietnamese generals in the postwar years has affirmed that they knew they could not defeat the United States on the battlefield, and that they counted on the division of our people at home to win the war for them. The Vietcong forces we were fighting in South Vietnam were destroyed in 1968. In other words, most of the war and most of the casualties in the war occurred because the dictatorship of North Vietnam counted on the fact Americans would give up the battle rather than pay the price necessary to win it. This is what happened. The blood of hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese, and tens of thousands of Americans, is on the hands of the anti-war activists who prolonged the struggle and gave victory to the Communists.
The second effect of the war was to surrender South Vietnam to the forces of Communism. This resulted in the imposition of a monstrous police state, the murder of hundreds of thousands of innocent South Vietnamese, the incarceration in "re-education camps" of hundreds of thousands more, and a quarter of a century of abject poverty imposed by crackpot Marxist economic plans, which continue to this day. This, too, is the responsibility of the so-called anti-war movement of the 1960s.
I say "so-called anti-war movement," because while many Americans were sincerely troubled by Americas war effort, the organizers of this movement were Marxists and radicals who supported a Communist victory and an American defeat. Today the same people and their youthful followers are organizing the campus demonstrations against Americas effort to defend its citizens against the forces of international terrorism and anti-American hatred, responsible for the September attacks.
I know, better than most, the importance of protecting freedom of speech and the right of citizens to dissent. But I also know better than most, that there is a difference between honest dissent and malevolent hate, between criticism of national policy, and sabotage of the nations defenses. In the 1960s and 1970s, the tolerance of anti-American hatreds was so high, that the line between dissent and treason was eventually erased. Along with thousands of other New Leftists, I was one who crossed the line between dissent and actual treason. (I have written an account of these matters in my autobiography, Radical Son). I did so for what I thought were the noblest of reasons: to advance the cause of "social justice" and "peace." I have lived to see how wrong I was and how much damage we did especially to those whose cause we claimed to embrace, the peasants of Indo-China who suffered grievously from our support for the Communist enemy. I came to see how precious are the freedoms and opportunities afforded by America to the poorest and most humble of its citizens, and how rare its virtues are in the world at large.
If I have one regret from my radical years, it is that this country was too tolerant towards the treason of its enemies within. If patriotic Americans had been more vigilant in the defense of their country, if they had called things by their right names, if they had confronted us with the seriousness of our attacks, they might have caught the attention of those of us who were well-meaning but utterly misguided. And they might have stopped us in our tracks.
This appeal is for those of you who are out there today attacking your country, full of your own self-righteousness, but who one day might also live to regret what you have done.

Re: As an American, I would and have defended your right to free speech. I also reserve my right and choose to exercise it now to express myself concerning your comments today in your debate with Mr. O'Rielly.
Where the hell were you when your beloved president clinton bombed innocent civilians and embassies during his administration?
Your hypocritical, spineless, cowardly, unresolved 1960's antigovernment/anti-establishment mentality is nauseating. At a time like this, where 90% of Americans and most of our government leaders are united and support the President, your comments are not only shameful and cower to fear, but are decisive and dangerous.
If it is true that a lepard can not change its spots, then at least think through your thoughts before spewing your blatently disgraceful vomit publicly.
We are at war. There are no rules. Terror must be overcome with intelligence, surgical strikes, and a relentless national unity to do whatever it takes, regardless of the cost, to win this war. Yes, a world coalition is important and eventually necessary but to whin and whimper like an undisciplined adolesent, is sending a message that displays weakness on our part and will not force the muslims nations to deal with this global problem which truely is the key.
Please, consider this plain and simply advice, SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Donahue,
I saw you this morning (10-26-00) on the Today Show discussing your concerns about the "democratic" as it currently works in this country. While I don't necessarily support your candidate (Mr. Nader), I do support your comments about how big business is dictating who we should vote for. I certainly agree that the media shouldn't be telling American people that their vote won't matter if they don't vote for one of the "selected" candidates. That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. The same media will come out in a couple of weeks and tell us how poor voter turnout was. We have freedom of choice in this country and should vote how we feel. Myself, I have on several occasions in the past voted for write-in candidates for various positions in various elections. Does that mean my vote doesn't count? Of course not. I means I voted my conscience.
Keep up your efforts at bringing things like this to the national spotlight. You have the ability to do that more easily than "average" people because of your past notoriety.

Dear Phil,
Please come back! After retiring last year I had hoped to find some meaningful talk show hosts. Guess what--there are none! I'm so sick of the crap that's on (my 8-year-old needs boot camp, my husband is fooling around, etc. etc.). You had the only decent, intelligent, though-provoking talk show on daytime TV, and I miss you!!Please tell me you are planning a comback to put decency back in the talk show circuit.

Dear Mr. Donahue, I just returned from Philly. Someone who is dear to me was arrested during an nonviolent direct action of civil disobedience. The main stream media has characterized their civil disobedience as terrorism. The one I am familar with was sitting in the street protesting the death peanlty and economic injustice. We desperately need help for our activists. Many of the activists after they were arrested were subjected to physical and psychological abuse. The person who I know had never been arrested before. We need some help. Can you please respond. wwilliams.consept.com

Dear Phil,
I am a 28 yr old guy in New Delhi, India.
I watched your show for about 4 yrs on Star Plus and have been a big fan. I loved your show and watched as many as I could for the 4 yrs that it was on in India. I learned a whole lot from you and the guests on your show. You had been the most objective and intelligent talk show host ever in opinion. You had the ability to ask the most thought provoking sometimes pointed questions to the guests but always in the spirit of seeking knowledge & growth. I had grown a lot, learnt a lot, became wiser seeing your show and was sad when you called it a day. I felt sorry that I did not get to see your show for 4 yrs only and not longer since we started getting it in India only in 1992 or so.
I have very fond memories of your show and wished the best for you when you went on to newer things.
If ever you visit India, I would consider it my personal privilege to meet you and show you around and if I visit the U.S. I would love to meet you and shake your hand although I don't know where you live.
I'd also love to know what you do now a days.
With best wishes & regards,
